The Exige S1, reimagined.
The Car
Lotus Evoluta restores and reimagines the Lotus Exige S1. Each car is rebuilt on its original bonded aluminium chassis, reengineered around a supercharged Honda K20, and finished in hand-laminated carbon.
Chassis
Every build starts from a documented Series 1 donor. The bonded aluminium tub is fully stripped, inspected and recorded before a single new part is fitted.
The chassis number is documented and stays with the car for life.
Powertrain
Honda's K20 four-cylinder, supercharged by a Rotrex centrifugal compressor. No spike, no lag: a delivery that stays linear from idle to redline.
Honda power is the most common engine conversion in the Lotus world — a proven, well-supported route, chosen for engineering reasons.
Three switchable maps. The goal is not a headline figure — it is performance the driver can use, every day.
Thermal
Designed for a sustained 50 °C ambient. Full air conditioning. A cooling stack engineered upstream by the best Lotus specialists in Europe — radiator, charge cooling and airflow paths sized together at the start, not oversized at the end.
A lightweight car that works in the Gulf. All year.
Weight
kg dry — target
Weight is defended gram by gram from the first drawing — every bracket weighed, every option questioned — not chased at the end.
* Target dry weight. The final figure depends on the options specified by the client.
Body
The Exige S1 clamshell, re-skinned in hand-laminated carbon fibre. One layer of twill — laid, filled, sanded and lacquered by hand.
Specification
* Provisional. Final specification follows development.
